Hi Ann, how are you?
|

| I did the MT Challenge Yesterday June 3rd 2007 with 3 friends and did i find it a challenge. My time was 7 hrs 53 mins and i can tell you i did my best. The views were fantastic,it was organised to perfection, thankyou for that. I found the info on your web site helped to a massive extent, just saying ride on the verge on that cobbled uphill i think saved my life,i remembered that, even though at the time i could hardly remember my own name. This was a fantastic experience for me i just had to write to your guest book. I found the single cobbles or should i say stones the hardest bit of the ride, rattling all the bones in my body, but i had to push up some of the really steep uphills. Thanks again i am proud to say i have completed the Mary Towneley Challenge (not for the faint hearted) |

Well done Mark, its a real challenge. The last long climb up Rooley Moor is indeed hell on earth!

Fantastic images of the moors I felt as if I was back there looking at them. Oh how I miss them. I'm transcribing parish records in Whitworth & Todmorden just now and looking for ancestors so it's great to see the places I'm reading the names of. So Hades really does exist! (grin) |

Hi Cary, yes Hades is one of my favourite wild moorland outposts. where you can head off and explore in many directions.

Third time lucky on the MTL. Yesterday managed to completed the full loop in one day. I managed to talk 3 other friends into tackling this classic and finishing it in one day. At 8.00 am yesterday myself, Keith Jackson, Howard Jenkins and Steve Nolan set off from Worsthorne up the Gorple Road. After 7 hours and 45 minutes we returned exhausted but equaly well pleased to have completed it in one day. But what an experience! It is not for the faint hearted - the climbs and the downhill sections both energy sapping and exhilorating in equal measure. Just had a look at your photgraphs of the MTL to relive the pain and the pleasure. Great website, keep up the excellent work. |

Brilliant news, and a good time too! I will see Keith Jackson at work tomorrow for a full post ride de-brief.

I love the images. I come from Wardle originally and miss my moors dreadfully. It brings a lump to my throat when I see these beautiful images! Thank you |

Michelle, I feel for you. I too love the Wardle area, but on days like today when the cold rain is bouncing off the pavments and running down the window pane, I would not mind being with you in Oss!
